FOCUS AND SCOPE

PAHR: Journal of Physical Activity, Health, and Recreation focuses on advancing scholarly research and evidence-based practices related to physical activity, health promotion, and recreation across diverse populations and settings. The journal encourages multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary perspectives that integrate education, health sciences, sport sciences, and social sciences.

The journal welcomes original research articles, review articles, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and applied studies addressing, but not limited to, the following areas:

  • Physical activity and exercise science
  • Health promotion and public health
  • Physical education and sport pedagogy
  • Sport and exercise behavior
  • Recreation, leisure, and community-based physical activity

PAHR prioritizes studies that demonstrate scientific rigor, methodological transparency, ethical integrity, and practical relevance, contributing to the development of active, healthy, and sustainable communities at local, national, and global levels.
