PEER REVIEW PROCESS

PAHR: Journal of Physical Activity, Health, and Recreation applies a rigorous and transparent double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, integrity, and scholarly value of all published articles. In this process, the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed to prevent bias and ensure objective evaluation.

Each submitted manuscript undergoes an initial editorial screening to assess its relevance to the journal’s focus and scope, originality, methodological quality, and compliance with ethical standards. Manuscripts that pass this stage are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant field.

Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on scientific merit, methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, relevance to the field, and contribution to knowledge. Review reports and recommendations are communicated to the authors, who may be requested to revise their manuscripts accordingly.

The final decision to accept, request revision, or reject a manuscript is made by the Editor-in-Chief or assigned editors, taking into account reviewer feedback and the journal’s academic standards. The editorial team ensures that the peer review process is conducted fairly, confidentially, and in a timely manner.

PAHR is committed to upholding international standards of publication ethics. All participants in the peer review process—including editors, reviewers, and authors—are expected to adhere to ethical guidelines, maintain confidentiality, and disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
